Richmond knocked Scotland off the top of the MSEC. The Raiders are the #1 seed for the first time since 2002.

Northern gets the number 1 seed and Rocky Mt ends up with the 2 seed.

Zach Woodley pitches a masterpiece tossing a complete game shutout allowing only 1 disputed infield hit.

The game was played at Rocky Mt in front of a huge crowd.

How was that hit a, "disputed" hit? The runner beat the throw. Woodley pitched as well as I have ever seen. He was due, and deserved a great win like last night. Look for Northern Nash to play well in the playoffs. Rocky Mount had better step up their play, or they will make a quick exit from the playoffs.

    Infield hit

Goodwin beat it out it was an infield hit. Woodley was outstanding. I stood behind the backstop the last two innings and his stuff was tremendous. Northern Nash has the pitching to make a deep run in the playoffs. Its going to take a great effort to knock them off. Rocky Mounts Jim Leggett pitched a heck of a game. In the top of the 5th it was scoreless and Northern Nash had two runners on with two outs. A pop up in shallow cf was misplayed and this allowed Northern Nash to take a 2-0 lead. Otherwise we are going into the bottom of the 5th in a scoreless game. It seemed that once Woodley got that 2 run lead he stepped it up on the hill and was never threatened the rest of the way. Both of these teams are outstanding and they will be tough outs in the playoffs. They both have had outstanding seasons.
