Watauga/McDowell was an incredible game. It wasn't the best execution ( McDowell 4 TO's, Watauga 3 missed FG's) but the intensity could be matched by few.

Just by looking at the recent scores, I think it goes to show that the NW4A from spots 2-7 in the standings, there isn't that huge a difference. And yes, I'll even throw East Burke in that mix. All these teams play hard and are well coached.

    i just got home.

it took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to get outta the parking lot. Lake Norman shut down the Mooresville rushing game and did just enough on offense to secure the win. Mooresville must now re-group for a visit from the Statesville Geyhounds next Friday.

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
    AC Reynolds - 24
    Freedom - 0

    Final

ACR held Freedom to 1 total yard in the first half. The Rockets forced 4 INT's and 1 fumble, and limited Freedom to minus 11 yards rushing and just 63 yards passing for the game. ACR also forced 2 safties defensively.

    no way

    Ragsdale 23
    Trinity 8

A fairly ugly game tonight that was no where near as close as the score indicates. Ragsdale cruised to a 23-0 lead at half time then ran the ball the whole second half chewing up clock but never could score again with two fumbles, an interception and a blocked FG. Trinity never crossed mid field til a late 4th quarter drive resulted in a TD and two pint conversion.

In the first half Ragsdale got a first quarter TD pass from Romer to Ian Jenkins ( 9 yards), a 11 yard TD pass to Luke Sonricker, A Romer one yard sneak and 20 yard Kasey Redfern FG.

Ragsdale D was stout all night but they did not play well on that last drive. Fell asleep on a couple plays letting them convert one fourth down and let Trinity complete a pass between two defenders at the two.

Ragsdale offense was hurt tonight early in the third when Charles Thomasson went down after his second carry of the half which went for 24 yards. He was working on a career night which ended with 157 yards on 15 carries. Ragsdale worked that possession down to the five when they pulled out a jumbo lineup which I hope they never run again. Two carries with two fullbacks and the RB in I formation netted two yards then a bad throw on 3rd down was picked off in the end zone.

Trinity had four turnovers in the game as Antonio Gilyard and Nick Mearite each recorded interceptions and Mearite and Chris Armwood each recovered fumbles. Ragsdale should have recovered three more Trinity fumbles but players kept trying to pick up the ball instead of diving on it. I'm sure Norwood will remind them of that at Monday's practice.

Ragsdale now 8-0 and 3-0 on the season. I hope Thomasson is okay and DeSean Anderson too who didn't play in the second falf. Next week brings Randleman to Jamestown.

I'll probably get banned from NCPreps for my diatribe against the ineptness of the referees tonight. They were pathetic.

Did happen. Pinecrest has beaten Richmond twice in their history and both times it was in the rain. They have a fast qb and a fast tailback behind a pretty good o-line. They beat Scotland 31-7 last week. Richmond could have pulled this thing out but continuously shot themselves in the foot. Pinecrest may be ranked next week with a 6-1 record.
