# 12 UNCP (32-7) sweeps #9 GA College

    On senior weekend the Braves swept #9 GA College, who led the Peach Belt West division, by a combined score of 18-5. The Braves also outhit the Bobcats 31 to 14.

    In the opening game UNCP scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first and won 4-2.

    In the second game UNCP held on for 4-3 win after GA College scored 2 runs in the of the eighth. Braxton Lewis got his second save of the day in the night cap. Senior Keith Whitman hit his second two run home run of the day and tied the UNCP career home run record. Senior Jason Coker hit his 6th home run.

    In today’s finale the Braves erupted for three runs in the seventh & eighth innings to win 10-0. Junior Josh Haley hit his sixth home run of the season and is now tied with Coker and Whitman for the team lead.

    The pitching staff allowed four ER’s the entire weekend. The starting pitchers; Brian Willis (5-2), Brad Isom (7-2), and Josh Bagley (4-2) were lights out. Relievers Brantley Hattrich, Braxton Lewis, and Brandon Huffman left no doubt as to who was going to come out on top at the end.

    Big weekend series coming up next weekend when the Braves travel to divisional foe Francis Marion (29-10) to face the #15 Patriots for first place in the PBC East Division and possibly the #1 seeding in the PBC tournament.
