You might want to consider private hitting lessons, also. As a matter of fact, there is a clinic at Grand Slam in Raleigh this month. There is still plenty of time before the season starts to work on hitting. Most of the time the only problem with hitting is lack of practice. After you learn the fundamentals you've got to put in the swings.

Speaking of private hitting lessons, she takes lessons at GrandSlam every Wednesday night from an instructor (CP) for the last 2 1/2 yrs.

Sounds like you're talking about Wake Forest. If CP is who I think it is you've got a pretty good instructor. The clinic I'm speaking of is in Raleigh.

I was talking about the one in Wake Forest. I do know the one in Raleigh. They have a very good one there too in (CD).

Thanks, but I don't believe in Daddy ball. Some of you are missing my point. She plays on a good team, she starts, she usually hits 9th. The team is comprised of mostly 14 yr olds. I am looking for a team which is comprised of mostly 13 yr olds, where she can move up with this team. Her current organization does not have a 12u.

Back with what I posted earlier. My twelve year old played up last year with older girls. She typically either lead off or hit the bottom. With everything that goes on I tell her make the most of your opportunites. Playing up can be hard but can make the right kid work harder. She is going up again this year. Of course it is her choice.

What I think you're saying is that she is young enough to play 12U but she has been playing--and starting--14U. And you want to find an older 12U or younger 14U team where she may be one of the better players near the top.
If that's what you're saying that does have some merit so that she gets the feel of being near the top. Some people, myself included, feel that if you're playing "up" and you're starting that's better for the player--assuming everything else is good.

The bottom line is if she is happy with her coaches and teammates.

I forgot to mention earlier that Grand Slam in Raleigh also has a public bulletin board. There were several teams looking for players posted there the last time I looked. The closer it gets to the season the more notices there will be. You could post your DD's info there, also.

I appreciate everyones input, but tonight I spoke with my daughters hitting instructor out of Wake Forest (Chuck) and he informed me that it was better to bat 9th on an "A" level team and work her tail off to move up in the batting order than to bat in the top of the lineup on a "B" or "C" level team whereas the competition tails off. I appreciate everyones input as we will be staying at the "A" level of competition.

I agree with that. Especially if she's happy with her team.
