    Congrats

Congrats to all the NC Teams!

The tournament folks and college coaches I spoke with late Saturday had certainly took notice of how well the NC teams played.

For the Cardinals, although we did not repeat as National Champions, we came away proud of our fourth place finish. We experienced some great softball, great food, and a 1:30 AM game! (and how to play games with about 4-5 hours sleep two nights in a row).

As I and others have mentioned before, but it was really cool to see players and coaches from the NC teams in the stands puling for each other. We really appreciated the support. Too bad the Cardinals and Cobras had to meet. That would have been a great championship game!

The NC teams defeated some very good teams from all around the country and should all be proud of their performance. The goal for next year is to have at least 5 NC teams qualify for Nationals. So everyone play as much ASA ball as you can and be sure to enter as many ASA qualifying tournaments as possible next summer.

For the Cardinals, we look to return next year (for our 9th or 10th time), but will need to find 5-6 new players to accompany the players we have returning. We have at least this many players age out each year, but Coach Ray always finds (better yet, the players find him), so the Cardinals can field a strong team each year.

Again, congrats to the NC teams. People around the country have noticed!

    16U Teams Take Note

16U teams should also make it a goal to qualify for the ASA Nationals. It seems more and more college coaches are splitting time attending the 18U and 16U Nationals.

Many of the coaches I spoke with this past week were comfortable with their '08 recruiting and were looking for '09 & 10 prospects.
