    ASA

Blues went 5-2 giving up five runs in the tourney. Lost to a good Oregon team 2-1 late Friday. We finished higher than last year as we made the final 24. Gina Loflin, Emily Jeffery, Amber Kiser, and Leigh Ann, had good tourneys with the bat. Ashton, Meredith, Emily, and Nicole pitched very well. Thanks to all the 2005 LAdy Blues, U are a very special group! Actually thanks to all as we got excellent play from all the girls.

Cardinals did a great job! Not sure where they finally finished but had made the final 16 by winning Friday night. The NC teams did OK!

Some great softball was played and watching a game in the olympic stadium was awesome. I spent all my waking hours at the field and got to tell U the NC pitching was right there with the rest of the country.

Anyway, let's get more NC teams attending the ASA qualifiers next year so we can give the other states more competition .

The final results have been posted. The Cardinals and Blues both finished way ahead of many west coast and midwest teams. The Cardinals took the 2nd place team to 8 innings, and the Blues were very close to playing on Sunday as well.

Congrats to the players on both teams! :229031_ha

Both teams could have been in the finals with a couple of breaks.Watched several teams play including the one who won .Both NC teams were as good as any of them. This was the most evenly matched set of teams I've seen in the last several years. With the Gold teams not playing in this one put a little more parity into this national championship. Hats off to both teams they showed GIRLS CAN PLAY BALL IN NC. Good luck to all those who are going on to college and starting a new level of play.
