    Catholic rallied with 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th -- ignited by a 2 out, 2 run double by Alex Jensen in front of a standing room only crowd at Jack Hughes Park in Pineville on Friday. Daniel Stewart pitched another gem and the Cougars' offense -- although sluggish --was led by Eddie Hull and Danny Ryan who each had 2 hits. Matt Miller pitched superbly for South Rowan -- allowing only 5 Catholic hits -- but he, unfortunately, took the loss. Catholic moves on to play Carson Tuesday night in Pineville.

    The rain came and went quickly Friday at West Iredell, but water covered a majority of the infield forcing the Warriors and Concord Robinson to postpone their first-round playoff game. The Bulldogs had 2-0 lead with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning when lightning flashed beyond the trees on the north side of the campus forcing a lightning delay.

    The heavy rain that hit the area Friday struck hard, fast and left a lot of standing water on the infield dirt. The Warriors and Bulldogs will resume the game at noon today or at 5 p.m. Monday. West Iredell head coach Randy Martin said he didn’t think the field will be ready today.

    Kwasnik Delivers Once Again

    Luke Kwasnik turned in another dominating performance,Nick Cappello with a web gem over the shoulder catch in center field and 2 hits and Haydn Flores with another clutch 2 rbi hit. Josh Roeder called another excellent game behind the plate and will be the starter Tues vs E Gaston @ Porter Ridge.

    Suspended in bottom of 2nd with Hickory leading 3-0. Will resume at noon today.
