uhm... New Bern traveled to Rose? :kenny:

Rose Varsity was in a Jamboree at North Pitt, with North Pitt, DH Conley and Southern Wayne.

Rose JV and Freshmen team scrimmaged each other.

If the bears traveled to Rose, they were there by themselves....

    Conley Cancels

Thanks to Conley cancelling within the last day or so, Broughton had an intra-squad scrimmage today. I wonder how long they knew they weren't coming and didn't have the class to let us know?

    South Granville vs Knightdale

The pitchers for both teams were a little rusty. I umpires imo were alot more rusty both ways. The first guy behind the plate wouldnt know a strike if it hit him in the face. Anyway here are some details on the scrimmage.

I didnt get names for Knightdales players so I will post the stats only for South Granvilles players and hopefully our resident Knightdale posters will add the names for Knightdale.

Pratt Maynard went 3 innings. No hits 4 BB 9 k's.
    Josh Darroach went 2 innings. 1 hit 2 BB 3 K's.
    Justin Norwood went 2 innings. 1 hit 4 BB 0 K's.
    Nash Blackley went 2 innings. 0 hits 2 BB 1 K.

    South Granville Hitting
    Jeff May 3-4 HBP , Dbl , HR , 4 rbi's
    Pratt Maynard 2-4 HBP , Dbl , 2 rbi's

Those are the only multiple hit guys. I think we had around 9 or 10 hits.

    Final score
    South Granville 13
    Knightdale 4
    9 Innings

    Sorry to hear this

This does not sound like Coach Mills style....something beyond his control must have caused this cancellation.

Bash brothers had quite a day! Wish you would have called us to umpire!

    On your worst day

your light years better. I wish your guys had been there as well.

As far as DH Conley cancelling the scrimmage there is no way Coach Mills would do something like that at the last minute unless the circumstances were out of his control. He is one of the most classy coaches you will ever want to meet.

    Conley Cancels

I don't know Coach Mills but I do know Coach Jim Comis. If you look at the second post in this thread, Conley had already set something else up for themselves locally. A little more notice would have been nice so we could have made other arrangements.

Coach 27. I can agree about the umpiring today, it was pretty all over the place. We scrimmaged Fuquay-Varina today and the umpiring was about the same. We had a pretty even scrimmage talent wise but being the guys we had umpiring were inexperienced so it made for a very interesting day. No complaints though, it was a great day being at the ball park with a REAL opponent to compete against.

I certainly understand your frustration. Im sure Coach Comis and Coach Mills will work this out between the two of them. Both are outstanding guys and coaches. Im sorry your boys didnt get the chance to play someone else today. Good luck next time out.
