I look for many more college decisions soon on most of these guys. What a great group of young men. Our record that year as 35-3. We beat the Rowan Stampede in the semis of the state finals with a tough little RHP on the hill , Roland. Jeff May hit a 3 run bomb in extra innings. We then beat a great South Wake Storm team in the finals to win the State. On that South Wake Storm team were such guys as Corey Thompson ECU , Cameron Conner NCSU and several more outstanding players. Im most proud of the fact that out of the 13 players on that roster 11 are still playing baseball. This team split up for the LL post season. Half were on the South Durham LL All Star team and the other half were on the North Durham LL All Star team coached by Danny Bass. The North Durham boys went on to win the 9-10 State Title in Greenville over a tough Charlotte Matthews squad. Great memories.

I sure would like to hear about the other guys around the state.

 

Hickory Heat

Fuquay Predators , Raleigh Red Wings , Virginia Cannons , Tidewater Drillers , Richmond Braves , man Im starting to remember them all now. How about the Old Providence MudDawgs , South Charlotte Panthers ? I bet we all crossed paths at one time or another.
