Seth Wachtel opened the bottom of the ninth with a single and Michael O'Berdrne followed with a double. Garrett Gore then hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the game-winner.

Jesse Hudson tossed the first five frames for the Vikings, giving up two hits, fanning six and walking five. Clint Henry gave up two hits in a third of an inning before Zack Long came on to finish things, allowing one hit, striking out four and walking two.

    Alexander 3- Providence 1

Payne Pitched 5 strong innings for AC giving up one run in the 5th putting Providence up 1-0. In the bottom of the 5th Ac loaded the bases and Zack Orren hit a double of the left field wall scoring 3. Kinnaird pitched the last two only giving up one hit. Well played game for both teams. Would be a nice rematch in playoffs if both teams make it.

Sorry Sabrefan, I was in Florida at spring training this weekend -- saw the Red Sox - Yankees game today.

The only things I have heard about the game were that Myers Park led 1-0 through 5 and then suffered through a huge Independence rally in the 6th. The good news for the Mustangs was that Jeremy Mathis pitched 4 or 5 shutout innings in his pitching debut and reportedly looked strong, and that Wes Flowers hit a long home run and played well defensively in his first start at shortstop. I understand that Coach Deming used his third different lineup in three games in three days as he continues to look to find the right combination. The Mustangs will have to find some offense before the conference season begins.

I wish I had some Independence details for you since it was a big win for them, but I don't.
