    East Meck-5 (3-0)
    Harding- 0

Junior Brett Alter started the game strong and threw 5 complete innings allowing only one hit, and no walks. Junior Taylor Bryant finished the last 2 innings strong w/ a powerful fastball. Seniors Blake Gehringer and David Teague both having 2 hits each accounted for all 5 runs. I think Greeson and the Eagles may surprise a few people this year.

Fairly well played game considering the adverse weather conditions for both teams.

BOTH PITCHERS THREW COMPLETE GAMES. BENSON GAVE UP 3 RUNS IN THE 1ST (2 EARNED), AND THEN THREW A NO HITTER THE REST OF THE GAME ALLOWING JUST 1 RUNNER TO REACH SAFELY ON AN ERROR. HE HAD 5 K'S AND 0 BB'S

I wish I could say it was a well-played game, but the weather conditions affected both teams. Hard-fought contest by both teams until the final pitch with the tie and winning runs both on base.

    Nostra .... pleasure meeting you.

    Scoring Summary
Providence got their run off a Northrup HR.

Indy scored their first run off a fielders choice and scored their second run off an RBI double by Aaron Bray.

    Pitching Summary

Zack Farry was the starting pitcher and got the win. Soph Robby Bray came in with two on and one out in the 7th. After walking the first batter he faced, Providence tried a squeeze that got the runner on third thrown out by catcher Jon McMahon. Bray then struck out the batter to end the game.

Alex Martin was tagged with the loss for Providence.

A well played game by both teams. Both pitchers gave up very few hits.

Weddington is now 2-0 (1-0 SPC)

    From the Observer:

East Gaston 9, Charlotte Christian 6

From looking at the box score, it looks like the weather played a large part in the game. Christian had 5 errors charged. East Gaston came from behind by scoring 7 runs in the last inning, after a pitching change by Christian.
