    East Forsyth 9
    Chapel Hill 5

    WP- Ryan Basham (5IP,9K,2H,0R)
    LP- Greg Martin

Notes: Chapel Hill rallied with 5 in the bottom of the 7th.
Detroit and Kansas City scouts on hand to see Basham, and whoever else impressed them, and UNC-Asheville was there to see Kevin Mattison.

    Sun Valley - 19
    Forest Hills - 3

    WP - Andy Kwasnik (1-0) 7k's, 5 hits, 0 BB's
    LP - Benson

    Leading hitters

    SV
    D Love 3-3, 2b, HR, 2 rbis
    J Privette 2-3, HR, 2 rbis, 3 runs
    Blalock 3-4, 2b, HR, 2 rbis
    A Kwasnik 2-3, 2b, 3 rbis
    D Laney 2-3, 2b, 2 rbis
    A Thomas, 2-3, 2b, 2 rbis

    FH
    A Traywick 1-1, HR

Finally the bats of Sun Valley woke up 17 hits, 19 runs, 3 HR's. Hopefully, this will build some momentum going into conference play. SV is at Anson today and play host to Piedmont on Friday.

Carithers took the loss for K-town, didn't throw too bad. Bowers and Query threw well in relief as well. Pitcher for CC threw a strong game, complete game I believe (I don't think they changed pitchers), only gave up 4 hits. K-town is now 0-4.

I try to stay positive about our guys, but they have not looked good at all so far this season. The talent is definitely there! Hopefully we can turn it around with the conference opener Wed 3/17 vs Statesville.

    03/16, North Meck, 5, Hopewell 1

    WP: Zack Rosenbaum

Zack Rosenbaum pitched 6 very strong innings. Jaryd Keese pitched 6 for Hopewell and pitched very well. A couple of defensive lapses here and there hurt Hopewell at the worst possible time for them. Tom Porter pitched the 7th for North Meck and Dusty White pitched the 7th for Hopewell, both retiring all that they faced.

Wes McCall pitched a complete game no-hitter. Errors led to East Lincoln's score in the game.

A two-run homer in the bottom of the 7th while trailing by 1 run lifted West Stokes over the defending state champions.
