Mudcat - Sophomore LHP Shane Galloway is very impressive and will be hard to beat in that conference. They should have good year.

    Waddell is greatly improved

Sorry to be late with this post, but I have been trying to get on without success for the last two days.

Waddell really impressed me the other night at Myers Park. They did not make a single error the whole game. They got several hits -- Krimminger had a long home run in the sixth, DeSilva had a huge run-scoring triple in the first, and Rhine had two good hits -- those three guys could play for anybody. The Raiders probably had two or three other hits, too. Rhine pitched well, going the first five, and Krimminger was his usual strong self, shutting the Mustangs out in the sixth. Ths team is still two or three bats short to be able to compete well on a regular basis in the SW4A, but they will sneak up on some people this season.

For Myers Park, Jeremy Mathis pitched 5 and was very strong, keeping the ball down (as he usually does) and getting lots of ground balls. Ryan Rockecharlie pitched the sixth and Scott Brewer came on in the seventh to record his first save. The Mustangs got all 4 of their runs in the second, with key hits by Jack Myers, Scott Brewer, JJ Rollins and Tim Kramer.

That's absolutely AMAZING! The stars must have been in some kind of "baseball alignment" on Tuesday night.

Frazier, fr. (8k). McCall, sr. (12k).

    JM Robinson--5
    Peidmont--1
postponed in the top of the 5th, Robinson has bases loaded and no outs

Benson started the game after picking up the save yesterday vs West Rowan. He threw all 4 innings and gave up 2 hits and 0 ER. King started for Peidmont. He was takin out of the game right before the game was called. Robinson has really stepped it up the last 2 games.

    03/18, South View 2, Purnell Swett 1

South View looks to be taking over the Two Rivers conference completely. They are now 8-0 I believe. Look for them to crack the sweet-16 (at a fairly high ranking) this coming tuesday. The main competitors in the Two Rivers will be 5-1 Cape Fear and 4-1 Pine Forest.

The Two Rivers conference spent the first couple of weeks beating up on the Mid-southeastern conference it looks like. Only Richmond and Pinecrest, with a records of 4-2/5-2 respectively are above .500 in that conference right now.

Those 4 teams look to be the best of the "Mid South and East pretty much Central region" (near I-95 going towards the S.C. line.

The West Meck vs Independence game was interupted in the 2nd by the weather conditions. Indy was up 3-0 at the time. Though the Varsity will have to reschedule the remainder of the game, Indy's JV team did beat WM by a score of 24-0.

007, make a note of it .... this may be a team for your "JV Championship" that you could factor into the opinion polls..

    About the Mid-southeastern....

oops ...... I forgot one ... I have trouble remembering which schools are in which conferences ... there are only 421 that we are tracking....

Pinecrest is challenging Richmond for control of the Mid-southeastern. They are currently 5-2. Traditional power, Scotland County, is lagging a bit behind early.
