    Kannapolis-2
    Lake Norman-0

Andrew Mead had a no hitter untill the 6th inning and it was rewened by a bunt of all things. But it was a great game all around and Kannapolis is starting to play ball after that terable start and are now 2-4(2-0).

Congratulations to Garinger on a well played game last night @ South Meck in front of a big supportive group of Sabre fans! Garinger's defense looked the best that it has looked in years but their offense still needs some work. Applause to the Garinger's baseball staff and their baseball team for continuing to work hard year after year. :applause:

I was impressed with Garinger as well. They have made huge strides in their improvement. Their pitcher (wish I knew his name) was very competitive and the fielders made plays.

But the one thing that stands out when you play Garinger is how classy the players are and the fan base they bring to the game. The fans cheer both teams on good plays and rally around their players like no one else in the city.

:applause: ...for the Garinger team and their fans!!! Keep up the good work.

I've said this before and I'll say this again. If someone would commit themselves to establishing a feeder program for that school, they have the athletes and in my opinion, it could become a jewel of an opportunity...but it would take a tremendous effort and commitment from a coach and the community....but it sure would be rewarding

    Agreed!

:xyzthumbs If you look back at the realllllllllllll tradition that Garinger once had it lies dormant today waiting for the "right" baseball person with the right support to awaken a potential sleeping giant! Anyone remember Coach T, the State Championship, the Hill pitcher etc... My Uncle was a High School All American as a pitcher at Garinger!!!!! And again the kids as well as the parents are as classy as they come in Charlotte! As a basebal person you feel and sense the kids over their are playing the game because they LOVE IT and their parents know this! They respect the game, their opponents, which is alot more than I can say for other programs anywhere! :xyzthumbs
