    4/2 Independence Vs. Hopewell

    Independence 7 - Hopewell - 6

This is a was a good game to watch with both teams regaining the lead on and off throughout the game. Aaron Bray started the game for Independence and then was relieved by Jeff Rockett when he tired (believe Aaron had thrown a couple of innings the day before as well). Ryan Stage pitched for Hopewell and threw well, although the resulting score gave him his first loss of the year. A controversial call cost the Titans a run midway thru the game, but was really felt at the end of the game when the Titans fell short by one. Hopewell was missing Ben Beard, who is out with an injured wrist. Independence was short Zack Ferry who was also injured. Both teams had a couple of key errors that resulted in runs scoring. Independence had some good hits, particularly by Jeff Rockett and Mark Nicholson. For Hopewell, Dan Woodall, Dusty White, and Steve Laco had a couple of hits a piece, along with a key hit/RBI's by Matt Gardner and Andy Oliver.

    Week 6 Game Results

Did'nt see a thread on Week 6 so I'll start one here.

    Mooresville 12
    N. Iredell 1 (5 in.)

    I FORGOT MY SCOREBOOK :teeth:

Mooresville scored 5 runs in the first and cruised to the win. Mooresville Sr. P Jordan Heulett missed a no hitter by giving up a N.I. homer in the bottom of the fifth.

Fun game to watch, lots of runs, hits and errors. Both teams
"throwing off" to save pitching for conf. games.

    WP Addison Johnson (4-1)
    LP Wilmoth

    NF- Seth O'Brien 2-3, HR, 5 RBI
    SC-Reece 4-4 5 RBI
    Leftwich 1-3 HR 3 RBI

    North is now 9-3 (2-0) in Metro-4A
I think SC has only lost 2 to North, and 1 to South Stokes,,good team

Sophomore right-hander Jared Bard through a complete game gem vs. the defending state champs. Flawless defense and timely hitting led to the victory for the knights. this was a big win for christian, they have won 5 games in a row and will host Piedmont tom. (4/6) at 4:00.

anyone see the game or have any thoughts on it?

Ashbrook made some key defensive errors, dropped ball by centerfielder and a boot by the shortstop. Conversely, Christian made several big defensive plays. McGuirt, playing left field, made a throw home early to prevent a run from scoring and later in the 5th or 6th, fired another toward home, Reid Fronk cut it off and gunned down the base runner who had rounded second. Daniel Hill made at least two superior plays a first fielding hot throws from Watson (SS).. Several runners were caught either stealing or in base running errors. Bard did in fact pitch very well, keeping Ashbrook's potent offense off balance. He also picked off a runner on Second.
