WC takes command of the always tough Eastern Carolina 3A by holding on versus newcomer SC. These two were tied for conf lead coming in. SC rallied from 5 runs down, but couldn't get it done in Morehead City. Makes WC 11-1.

    Hopewell vs Harding

    Hopewell 6 - Harding 2

    WP - Jared Keesee
    LP - Brian Lawing

A close game for 5 innings. Keesee was effective, yet struggled with some walks, giving up only a few hits....Hopewell hit the ball but scored only one run in the first couple innings because of some crucial base-running mistakes. Lawing was ejected from the game in the 6th inning, followed by the ejection of the Harding coach as well, which hurt the Rams, but by then Hopewell had gone several runs ahead. Brant Jensen and Dusty White both hit the ball well for Hopewell. Jensen went 3-4, including a triple. White went 3-4, including 2 doubles. The Titans have a tough week remaining as they face Olympic tonite and North Meck tomorrow. Ben Beard is still out for Hopewell and his return date is still undetermined.

I dont think you can take a whole lot of credibility into the rankings when half the season isnt even over . Who does the rankings ? How many games do "THEY" actually watch ?
I think once conference tournaments and opening rounds of the State tournament are upon us you can get an idea of the rankings..

The other homerun Dallas hit was in the 7th against Sun Valley that put them ahead for good. He has really been Mr. Clutch.
