    Hopewell vs Olympic

    Hopewell 17 - Olympic 4 (5 innings)

    WP - Andy Oliver
    LP - Greg Conrad

Andy Oliver, a sophmore, pitched well for Hopewell. Olympic began to hit him more in the 5th, probably due to tiring, but he pitched well overall in his first start this year. Greg Conrad started for Olympic with Nate Staton coming in to relieve him. Both pitchers gave up several hits each in each of the innings pitched by them, but Olympic occasionally struggled with some routine plays, causing the runs to pile up between some big hits by Hopewell. For Olympic there was some nice hits by Jeremy Price, Thomas Hovis, Matt Clapham (HR) and Steven Apointe. For Hopewell, Brett Richardson hit the ball well (3-3), as did Jared Keesee (3-4), Dan Woodall (2-3, HR) and Dusty White (4-4). Both teams have key conference matchups today with Olympic traveling to South Meck and Hopewell traveling to North Meck.

Sam threw a very nice game. He had good movement on the ball and was placing it with precision for most of the game. A few critical errors by Hopewell hurt them.
