    Butler vs Hopewell

    Butler 13 - Hopewell - 12 (8 innings)

    WP - Josey
    LP - White

As NCBBallFan stated, there was indeed alot of offensive in this game. Six homeruns hit - 3 by each team - the wind was definitely blowing hard and blowing out, so more homeruns were given up than were expected. Hopewell had a five fun lead at one point, but never put Butler away, who continued to scrap and generate runs. Butler continued to change pitchers throughout the game. Hopewell is definitely missing the absence of two key players. Beard is out with a wrist injury and Jensen out for a 2-game suspension, which combined with a couple of key errors spelled problems . Late it the game, the Hopewell bats went dry and Butler's didn't. Hopewell pitched Stage for 6-1/2 innings, then brought in White, who pitched out of the inning, but gave up the 2-run homerun in the 7th to tie the game. (Glass hit his 2nd homerun of the game). In the bottom of the 7th, Hopewell had a chance to tie or go ahead, but came up short sending the game into extra innings. Then in the 8th, Butler scratched a run across the plate and Hopewell didn't. Butler had homeruns by Glass (2) and Sansevero; Hopewell had homeruns by Woodall and Laco (2).

The other game of the tournament was Concord Robinson beating Piedmont 3-1. Great game. This was a conference game which puts Piedmont in 4th place in a conference with 3 playoff spots. Piedmont has an absolute crucial game with Sun Valley @ Piedmont next Tuesday.

Winning pitcher: Levi Wright (2-0) (7 IP, 1 run, 0 earned runs, 2 hits, 3 Ks, 0 BBs).

Highlights: Wright pitched a complete game two-hitter and didn't allow an earned run on 71 pitches to lead North over 3-A Tuscola in the final game of the Tuscola Easter Tournament.

Levi Wright is really developing into a nice player. Excellent catcher and is getting it done on the mound too.
