and the hottest team in 3A is

    Ragsdale 11 WP Chad Baker
E Guilford 0 LP Brad Foster

Ragsdale 8 WP Trevor Mullins ( 5-0 on the season)
    S Guilford 0

    Ragsdale 10 WP Jake Kensmoe
    NE Guilford 2 LP Atkins

Kensmoe gave up two hits and struck out 11 and Mullins is swinging the bat as good as he brings the heat going 3-3 with 3 RBIs and a HR.

Mullins, a sophomore has been a very pleasant surprise this year.

Twelve in a row for the Tigers. :xyzthumbs

    SPC games from last week

    4/15/04

    Weddington - 3
    Sun Valley - 2

    WP - J Sain
    LP - L Blalock (4-1)

After holding Weddington hitless through 5 innings, Weddington put together back to back doubles followed by a triple to tie the score 2-2. Weddington wins the game in the bottom of the 7th on a wild pitch that hits the dirt and bounces off the catcher's mask allowing the a runner to score from 3rd with 2 outs. Heartbreaker!

    Blalock hits his 8th HR.

    4/16/04

    Sun Valley - 11
    Anson Co - 2

    WP - A Kwasnik (3-0)
    LP - S Chewning

    Leading hitters

    Sun Valley

    C Hargett 3-4, 2 runs scored
D Laney 2-3, triple, sac fly, 2 rbis, 2 runs scored
    A Tillman 2-4, 3 rbis
    R Smith 1-3, 2 run HR, 3 rbis

Sun Valley bounces back after tough loss to Weddington. Andy Kwasnik pitched a good game, after allowing 2 first inning runs, he shuts down Anson by striking out 7 of the last 9 batters he faced. C Hargett (SS) made two outstanding plays in the field.

15 in a row for Ragsdale

    Ragsdale 10
    HP Central 0
    5 innings.

Jake Kensmoe gets the win. He struck out 7 in 4 innings. Gave up 2 hits. Or maybe only one. Central had a base runner in the first but I was there late and didn't see how he got on. (edit to add Kensmoe gave up one hit only)Chad Baker pitched the fifth, struck out the side. Baker also went 3-3, 2 DBs with 3 runs and an RBI.

The Tigers are really playing good right now. 17-2, 10-1 in the conference. Big game with 2nd place Asheboro Friday night in Jamestown.

and in a related jayvee score

    Ragsdale 34 :scared2:
    Central 0
