    Myers Park 5, Providence 3

    WP: Jeremy Mathis
    LP: Alex Martin

Mathis came on for Jason Kennell in the 5th. Kennell went 4+ and pitched very well. Martin took the hard luck loss, giving up 4 runs in 6 innings, 3 of them unearned.

Myers Park scored once in the 6th to go up 4-3 after a Wes Flowers double and a Jack Magee rbi single, and then once again in the 7th to go up 5-3. In the 7th Logan Smith doubled and Mathis doubled him home.

Providence loaded the bases in the bottom of the 7th but couldn't score.

JJ Rollins had a 2 rbi double earlier in the game after 2 Providence errors gave the Mustangs a 5 out inning.

Myers Park and Providence are now tied for second inthe SW4A at 8-3.

Thanks coach....I could'nt attend the game tonight, my grandma is in the hospital but my wife said that our son was fortunate enough to get one of Mooresville's two hits and the lone walk. Good luck to the Wonders the rest of the way.

Who'd a thunk it just a week ago. Congratulations go to Jack Magee for getting the key hit. It looks like Coach Demming's plan to play everyone at the beginning of the year is paying off.

In my opinion, Ryan Basham continues to demonstrate why he is the best pitcher in the State....and I told his Daddy that Ryan has a very good bat...he just didn't believe me :D:D

One more thing about Ryan. He will continue to grow..long legs..long arms...effortless 90+ fastball...again in my opinion, he is the most projectable HS player for the MLB....and I know their are many scouts coming to that same conclusion.
