JM Robinson obtained the #1 seed in the SPC conference today by a coin flip. Any word on who is going to take 3/4 seed b/t Peidmont and SV

A few Tri County 3A scores

    from Tuesday night

    E Randolph 7 ---- 10-3 conf 16-5 overall
    Ragsdale 4 --- 11-2 conf 18-3 overall

    WP Zack Strickland
    LP Trevor Mullins

E Randolph ends Ragsdale's 16 game winning streak. ER smacked 14 hits and chased starter Jake Kensmoe in the second. Mullins came on in relief and picked up the loss. Ragsdale should wrap up first place with a home game against Trinity Thursday. E Randolph can wrap up second with a win Thursday night at Asheboro. If Asheboro can win they will finished tied for second with ER. If ER wins Asheboro and SW Randolph will tie for third and a coin flip I assume will determine who gets the final playoff bid.

    tonight

    Asheboro 9
    Union Pines 2

    Hickory 13 RS Central 6

    WP - Wilson Boyd (5-3) - 5 2/3 innings (in relief), 9 K's
    LP - Kyle Matheny

    Hickory:
    Isaac Harrow - 4-5, 2B, 2 RBI's
    Clay Smith - 3-5. 2B, 3B, 2 RBI's
    Wil Boyd - 2-4, 2B, 3 runs,
    Connon Hilton - 2-3
    Josh Punch - HR (1)

    RS Central:
    Brad Cummings - 2-4

Hickory completes SWF 3A play in third place at 8-4 (14-9 overall) but must win the conference tournament to earn the number 2 playoff spot. The tornados are 7-1 in their last 8 games losing only to top ranked Alexander Central in 11 innings.

The 3rd and 4th seed in the SPC will be determined today, also by a coin flip according to my sources. I know I am bias in this situation, but since Robinson won the top seed, I think SV should be awarded the 3rd seed since SV split with Robinson and Robinson swept Piedmont. Oh well, just a thought.....

You don't want to face Concord in the 1st round either, huh?

#6 ranked Garner avenged an early season loss to #8 ranked Athens Drive in this matchup of the top-2 teams in the Triangle Athletic Conference. The final was 10-6, but it wasn't a pretty game as Garner had over-come 6 errors.

Garner is now 5-1, 17-2 overall. Athens Drive lost their first in-conference contest and is now 4-1, 13-4 overall.
