Now, RJR, you could have asked for Braves at the game. I would have helped you out :D

The starting pitchers were Joey Cutler and Jonathan Ratledge...Prov/South Meck.

The SS for South is UNC bound Kyle Shelton...considered by many across the State as the best defensive SS. The kid is magical with his glove and arm. Too bad he didn't get many balls hit to him tonight.

Tonight was your typical Prov vs SM game...much emotions and intensity with both teams battling and competing. After watching one of these games, one would think they don't like each other....but in reality...the coaches are best friends and there is much respect between the two teams.

    Big East Conference Results:

JH Rose put the final nail in the coffin and relegated New Bern to 2nd place with an 8-6 victory tonight. Rose wins the conference out-right and New Bern will move to the other side of the bracket where Hoggard is waiting.

I understand Brandon Stanford (catcher) will be mighty sore for awhile. Fortunately, no ligament damage in the knee...we'll have to wait for a more specific update.

Well fortunately, Brandon Stanford, South's catcher will be fine after being quite really sore for a while and no ligament damage to the knee but having it checked out thoroughly just to make sure?!?

But I would not call the Providence catcher's slide coming in to home from 3rd into South's catcher a slide when you go in head first with your shoulder down?!? I thought all the players knew to slide in to home at this level of their careers in order to make good, clean plays?!?

Also, by the behind-the-plate umpire not taking control of the game at this time and ejecting Providence's catcher for going in head first to home plate, things did get out of control for a while from South's side?!? When South & Providence played earlier in the year, there was strain and excitment in the air but because the game was played cleanly and kept in control at all times by the umpires @ South, there was no tension from either side of the field.

It was a typically hard played game by both the South & Providence teams but, again, it would have been more of a satisfying game if the umpires would have kept the game under control?!? There were even some Providence fans that were shaking their heads last night?!?

Oh well...just my thoughts...I'll probably feel better and a little differently later today?!? :luxlove:
