    Hopewell 6 - Harding - 4

WP - Beard, LP - Buckley

It was senior night for Hopewell with senior pitchers Beard, Stage and Keysee all getting pitching work. Hopewell had a shaky first inning defensively but then settled down, although they stranded way too many runners. Matt Gardner went 2-3, Dusty White went 2-4 w/ 2 doubles and Dan Woodall went 1-4 w/ a double as well. The Titan team, as well as the fans, were glad to get a victory in their last regular season home game.

Final regular season tuneup for the conference tourney for the Wonders. Seemed like everyone pitched for the Wonders, Query started, then Bowers, then Pittmon, then Austin Carithers came in with the bases loaded and 1 out in the 6th with the score 4-3, and calmly retired 5 straight to preserve the win. Great to see such a wonderful kid battle through the tough outings early in the season to come on strong this past week on the bump. I really don't know who got credit for the win, but congrats to the Wonders for another solid regular season!

    WP- Adam Collins
    LP- Chris Reich

Conference finale for both and Senior Night for East. A spirited game that ended North's hefty conference winning streak at 23 and injected a little more excitement in an already intense rivalry.

Haven't heard much on Hopewell this year. Any of these guys looking to play at the next level and where?

Ben Beard plans to play in college...a couple of schools looking at him - none I can quote for sure...as well as Tampa Bay. The injury he has been dealing with that prevented him for playing shortshop about a 3rd of the way into the season has been hard for him and the team. He has come back to pitch some, but still can't play short or bat. Dan Woodall will definitely play in college, still hasn't committed yet, but will be a big asset to whoever signs him. Jaryd Keysee plans to play at the college level (I believe he is still unsigned as of right now) as does Walter Himes (who has been out all season due to surgery but is healing very well - maybe a Lenoir Rhyne commitment). Brent Jensen (catcher) could definitely contribute to a college team. If any of the Hopewell parents know more on the college plans, please fill in the blanks.

WP - Andrew Wilson, complete game

Sophomore, Brian Booth hit a 2run HR early in the game to blow it open. Booth also had a 1st inning double to get things started.

Great day. We win the Region and Cary beats non-conf. rival Athens.
