Hey guys and gals sorry i was trying to keep everyone up to date on the 3-a scores here in winston-salem but had to go out of town for youngest dd's school field trip. so i will try to get everyone caught up. parkland opened season with a 13-2 victory over winston-salem reynolds. solid pitching by malia craft and leann flowers powered us to a victory along with some solid hitting by ms.craft who tripled and doubled, ashley myers with a double, and meredith pitts with a double. parkland then traveled to play a tough glenn team that again looks to be the class of this district and lost 14-2. some bright spots however was the hitting of ms.craft who hit her first homerun in high school and a 1-2 with a double by ms.myers. parkland then traveled to northeast guilford this past tuesday to play and although they played tough for 4 innings with the score tied 4-4 ended up losing 14-4. again parkland was lead by ms. craft who went 2-3 with 2 doubles and ms.myers who went 2-3 with a double. tough start to the year but have faced the top two teams in the district right off the bat. with coach lail starting 6 freshmen including all their pitchers and their catcher and only having 1 senior and 2 juniors this can only be a great learning experience for these girls. we have got a good bit of talent coming in the next two years so this team is only going to get better, and should compete for the next several years to come. have had to games postponed already for weather. winter stinks:couto:
