This had to qualify as the coldest, most windblown game we have ever played. steady 30mph winds, gusts to 45mph, but smiles on both sides of the field. Its obivious that both teams are eager to play no matter what the conditions are. Hats off to everyone :woot:

    Ice Bowl TWO

Ours was just as bad. But score was UGLY I was hoping we would give East Gaston competitive game BUT ( we did give competitive inning) can not blame on weather it was awful for both teams. From what I have seen Boys Baseball Wimps most games canceled :thud:

    Lancaster - A.J.Game

    Casey Faile pitched for A.J.
Here's the write up from the Lancaster News.

The Lancaster High Lady Bruins opened their season with a tough 2-1 win over county foe Andrew Jackson at the LHS softball field Monday night.
Lancaster High School senior Jenna Cauthen hurled the Lady Bruins to the win, striking out four Lady Vols. She allowed three hits and no walks in the game.
Katie Williams' RBI-hit in the fourth inning provided LHS the winning run. Shonda Steele had a run-scoring hit in the first to give LHS a 1-0 lead.
AJ's Casey Faile took the hard-luck loss, posting 14 strikeouts.
Alert LHS center field Yahamma White had the game's defensive gem as he fielded a hard-hit ball to center and threw out the runner on her throw to Kayla Edwards at first base.
Channell Thompson, Sarah Nichols, Katie Williams, Steele and White each had a hit for LHS. AJ was led by Danielle Gibson, Rebekah Phillips and Faile who each had a hit.
The teams meet again April 6 at AJ.
