SC has a game plan for the S. Meck game. Win or lose They know they can't bang it insde with Lakey. They won't just set up and live or die by the 3's either. SC will have to have a good night shooting the ball. They won't get many second and third shots. They have 3 things going for them. They can out run S.meck , The court at East Burke is big and S Meck doesn't score a lot of points per game. oh yea, there will be a big SC crowd there too!!!

What time are these games, and where? I'm assuming Saturday at 6:00 at East Burke for the South/South game?

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
    AC Reynolds vs Harding

I was told tonight at the guys game by Coach Snead and Mr. Sziksai (our AD) that the ACR/Harding game will be played at Charlotte Butler, Saturday at 6pm. :banginghe

I was really hoping to get to see the South Caldwell/South Meck game as well. Oh well too bad, just think how much money they would have raked in had ACR and South Caldwell played in the same gym right after each other!!!

Yeah, it seems kind of weird, all these games so spread out?

    In Sectionals 3 & 4 ...
Number 1 seeds get to play closer to home. If two number 1 seeds play each other, it goes to conference seeding priority (the order is- Big South, Queen City, Northwestern, Southwestern)

    In Sectionals 1 & 2...
They play at the higher seed. Conference seeding priority is Metro, Central Piedmont, then MECA 6

At South Meck during the player introductions I believe that they told where each player was from. I could not be 100% sure on this because the PA system was not good. But if I heard correctly thay said #42 was from NY and Cheek was from SC. I may be wrong. Did anyone else at the game here this also.
Did anyone read what Langston (charlotte observer) wrote about the game. He said that south meck should have been up by 20 at the half because they missed so many shots. MHS missed plenty of easy baskets in the first half and if we had made just 2 or 3 of these shots it would have been very possible that we could have been up at halftime. We only had 3 fouls in the first half and Coach Silver was trying to get our girls to foul at the end of the half, but they did not and Cheek went in for a layup. Just small things like this killed us all night. Langston didn't mention in his article that MHS starts 3 sophmores and South Meck starts 4 seniors. Just keep your Charlotte buddies happy Langston.

I agree that his assessment of the game was wrong, and McDowell did miss more easy shots than South. We also had a lot of turnovers at the very worst of times. I kept thinking if we could get within 4, they might panic, but it didn't happen.

However, Langston did mention that McDowell was a team of the future with mostly underclassmen. It was in a little box to the side, at least in our edition of the Observer.

Langston was so far up us the last three years because he had a crush on Anna Atkinson. Now that Atkinson has been gone for a season, its back to the normal homer-ism that he's known for. Don't know about Cheek and where she lives, but Williamson (#42) was from the state of New York, her parents moved to Charlotte last summer. The announcing of where these kids live reminds me so much of Anna Atkinson's freshmen year when we played the Myers Park team that included (3) Major D1's on the court (Nakisha Anthony, Ranisha White and LaQuita Owens). MP's PA guy was naming off cities like Atlanta, New York and other cities, just so show off and sound fancy.

Langston did say in his "observations" article on charlotte.com that McDowell is a "team of the future" and that we're "quick and talented."

Wow, I had a crush on Anna, too. HaHa! Just kidding, but I would take a daughter like her.

You remember what happened that night, McDowell ran Myers Park into the ground and spanked them by 20.
