    Alexander Central Looking for Game

    Word is that the 2006 Alexander Central Football schedule will have the same teams as 2005 with the exception of North Wilkes. Apparently North refuses to honor their contract and play the Cougars this year. Cougars won 49-6 this past season in a game that featured a continous running clock in the 2nd half. The clock actually was started before the 2nd half kick-off. Alexander would love to schedule a Catawba County team. They play Hickory and St Stephens but so far they are only schools that will play them. ACHS travels heavy with a lot of fans, so it would be a good gate for someone to get the Cougars on the schedule. Hickory, St Stephens, Mooresville, and North Iredell will all be on the non-league schedule again this season along with the replacement for North Wilkes.

    I would like to see Newton vs. ACHS. North Wilks never should have been on the schedule to begin with. Maybe would of the Caldwell county teams would work. ACHS does bring a crowd and always has a competitive team.
