2006 Softball Scores

    Catawba 8
    Francis Marion 9

    This game had an exciting finish. Catawba started off like gangbusters scoring 4 runs in the first inning. FM scored 3 runs until the top of 7th when they plated 6 runs making the score 9-3 in favor of FM. In the bottom of the 7th Catawba scored 4 to make it 9-8 FM. Catawba had the tieing run on 2nd but just couldn't get the hit they needed to tie the score. There were 4 homeruns hit in the game 2 by FM (T. Slawson, J. Allen, and 2 for Catawba (J. White, R. Baker)

    WP: Jessica Johnson
    LP: Lindsay Ettinger


    Game 2

    When I left in top of 5th inning score was 4-0 FM.

    1 homerun by FM (Jamie Wiggins) before I left.

    Final Score
    Francis Marion 8
    Catawba 0

    Note: I was suprised to hear that L. Gay, S. Handy, and L. Waldroop are no longer playing softball at Catawba!

    Lenoir-Rhyne and Queens Split

    Lenoir-Rhyne and Queens split this afternoon at Park Road Park. The Royals took the afternoon game, 2-1, and the Bears won under the lights, 4-0. Casey Hanes was the winning pitcher for the Bears, who extend their record to 5-1.

    Meredith O'Connor is a MP alum. She pitched the first game against Queens and did well. Braves, John Rhyne and Coach were at the game, too.
