    Campbell at Gardner Webb

    April 18

    Game 1
    Gardner Webb 5
    Campbell 0

    WP: Taryn Beck

Homerun by Lindsey Whitfield of GW

    Game 2
    Gardner Webb 1
    Campbell 4

    WP: Kelly Weaver

Karlie Love of Campbell hit what looked like a HR over the right field fence just inches inside the foul pole. Ball was curving to the right and landed to the outside of the foul pole. Field umpire signaled fair ball. After runner rounded bases, the home plate ump and field ump conferred and decided it wasn't a home run, but a foul ball. Karlie then hit a ball to deep left center, almost clearing the fence for a double. I guess I was mistaken, and didn't see what I thought I seen?

Must have been interesting game 1 to see for a lot of local fans, since both pitchers attended Central Cabarrus High School.

Forbush's Hannah Angel picked up a tough loss earlier in the week to Liberty University.

Angel is pitching at UNC Greensboro. Emily and myself are going up there today for a doubleheader against Western Carolina at 1. Ashley Adams (South Caldwell/Western) is third in nation in NCAA homeruns.

Western Carolina completed a 3 game sweep today at UNCG. The Catamounts hit 3 homers today with Ashley Adams getting her 19th of the season. It was a great day for softball, especially when the sun went behind the clouds. UNCG has a beautiful softball complex. It was great to get to see Nikki Bost (AC), and Heather Pritchard (S. Caldwell) play.

    CVAC Tournament

Due to rain on Saturday the CVAC is one day behind and they will be playing beginning at 9am Monday. Watched some good games today (Sunday). Queens won 2 games. Belmont Abbey lost one and won one.
