I wouldn't begin to predict who is better, but I will say this. I think that Matt Gragg may be the most underrated pitcher in the State....period!

I honestly don't know who is the better team between the two, either. We seen where Impact said that Matt Gragg may be the most underatted player in the state and is the #2 unsigned senior. By the way, he is my brother. Thanks for the compliment! He is a very hard worker, which shows in his improvement over the past few years and he loves to compete. He is starting to receive the attention he deserves, but he doesn't worry too much about that. He just wants the team to do well. Hopefully he will have a big year this year and help lead the team to a Conference Championship and possibly a State Championship as well. It's possible, but there are a lot of good teams. We'll see.

Your friend was correct, Towery did DH some for the varsity team last season. He also played on the JV team where he pitched and played 1B. It might be difficult for him to see PT this season with Duckworth, Howell, and Paeplow at 1B. It would be hard to leave any of these 3 out of the batting order. The varsity also has 7 kids who can pitch and pitch well. Howell is an excellent 1B, but is used in OF when not pitching. Ian Haley is going to surprise some folks. That kid has great control and a large variety of pitches. I believe he was the "Ace" pitcher on the JV team last year, but is definitely ready for Varsity NW4A play this year. He pitched a outstanding game against an 18 year old Diamond Devils team in Charleston this past fall and had all the hitters quessing. His pitches have lots of movement. Terbeek has great velocity for a LHP. His control and confidence should develope with more outtings. Radford is one of the hardest working kids on a team. He had some last inning heroics during American Legion baseball this past summer and should make an impact before he leaves high school.
