2006 Verbal Commitments??

    Brantley to Mars Hill

    Wake-Forest Rolesville pitcher Paige Brantley has verbally committed to Mars Hill. Paige lead WFR to the 4A State Finals in Walnut Creek last year. She has played with the Carolina Cougars this fall. She will be a big added plus to the pitching staff at Mars Hill with her Cougars teammate, Tiffany Farthing, in addition to what Coach Williams already has. Congratulations to Paige, Coach Williams, and the Cougars.

    Also committing early from the Cougars and Wake-Forest Rolesville is Nicki Prior. She is a catcher and has committed to Jacksonville University in Alabama. She had an offer as a DH from NC State as well. Jacksonville wanted her to catch as well as hit. She will be an impact player for them ... Again Congrats to the Cougars, Nicki, and Jacksonville.

    Additional Note

    Keri Palma from the Carolina Cougars has verbally committed to UNC-C... Coach DeVos is getting one of the best if not the best 2nd baseman in the state. Keri is a great kid and even better athlete. Will be good to see her on the 49er MI next year...

    In the last note, I misspelled Nicki Prier's last name... Sorry Nicki...

    Two More for Mars Hill

    Ashley Angell from North Davidson High School and the Crushers Red verbally committed over the weekend to Coach David Williams at Mars Hill.

    Additionally, Christa Fullwood from Eugene Ashley High School and the Carolina Cougars verbally committed today. She will be a two sport athlete at Mars Hill, playing Basketball with Coach Mandy Maddox as well.

    So far Coach Williams has received verbal commitments from 5 out of the top 6 players he identfied that he wanted to go after when he took the job. The sixth one is pending and should commit soon. Great job on his part to build on his program. Since 4 of the 5 play for the Carolina Cougars, maybe they should change the Mars Hill mascot from the Mountain Lions to the Cougars... But hey, isn't that the same animal anyway...

    Congrats to Ashley, Christa, Coach Todd Jenkins, Coach Trae Farthing, Coach Mike Lambros, and Coach Chip Adams.... :woot: :ylsuper:

    Eva Rappe from Eugene Ashley and Carolina Cougars 16U, has verbally committed to Dayton University. Congratulations Eva, Coach Roper, and Coach Adams.

    Great job by the Cougars this year on the field and assisting their kids in getting recruited. Some very good players on the 18U and 16U teams, the Blues had some good games with both teams this year. Which player was Eva? I am great with faces but poor with names. Good luck to her.

    I believe that Eva Rappe pitched and played infield for the 16U part of the year and later went up to the 18U team. She helped the Latta Vikings to the SC State finals the last two years. Eva formerly played for the Dixie Diamondbacks.

    curverise, you are right.. I thought she was from EA in Wilmington... She is from Latta, SC... Eva, my apologies
