Chris Twitty hits a shot at the buzzer to win the game. With 5.1 seconds left in the game MHS inbounds the ball to Kincaid he then passes to Twitty at the top of the key and Chris hits a floater as time expires.

Petey fouled out of the game with 6 minutes left in the 4th. They called 3 cheap fouls on him in the 1st half.

    Terrence 24 points
    Petey 17

On to the sectional championship vs. Crest.

Man what a game. I didn't get to go because I had to work but I listened to the second half on the radio. The kid going to clemson scored about 35 for Butler and McDowell's big men,Hausley and Barnett fouled out early in the 4th period but McDowell still found a way to win. Way to go Titans.

It was an amazing game. Big Dan, I do believe that I said if we won it would be because Twitty hit a big shot. Just call me Nostradamus!!!! Keep it going Titans

Yes you did ruckus76...Twitty made the big shot in the end to win the game. Tonight's win by McDowell is definitely one of the top five moments in the history of McDowell boys basketball. I don't ever remember one of Charlotte's stud basketball players ever having to play a sectional game at McDowell, we have always travelled to the QC to play the best teams in Charlotte. To win tonight not only is it a great feeling but I think it puts McDowell back on the map as a team that can contend at the state level once again. It also shows the 6 point loss to East Meck back in December was no fluke.

The crowd tonight was electric to say the least...the longer Butler let us stay in that game the more homecourt became the issue. Charlotte folks wanna know what all the hype is about playing up here at McDowell, well tonight Butler found out exactly why McDowell is a tough place to play. I will say this about the fans at Butler, they pretty much handled the outcome with class. In past years I have seen some of the Charlotte area fans act like a bunch of idiots, so to the folks from Butler that made the long trip, I appalaud you for the support of your team and I hope ya'll show the same support for your team tomorrow night in the girls game.

Well, McDowell is looking forward to friday night's sectional final against Crest. This makes the first sectional final for McDowell in 10 years. GO TITANS!!!
