By what I can see Harding was probably the weaker of the 4 teams so McDowells road will likely be thru W Charlotte , then Grimsley.
Mcdowell will be fine in the first one unless they get in foul trouble, I see their bench as the huge liability when you get to this point in the season.
Mt tabor has a good guard so evidently W. Charlotte was able to neutralize that one. McD will likely see the same diamond and 1 defense on Washington that they have been running the last few games.
    good luck

dribbles, I have read about West Charlotte's players, but never seen them. I have read that they are college prospects. Are they tall? quick? Do they have anybody as good as Kurie, Ali Ford, Jessica Freeman, etc.? Does their team like to run?

I think Kurie can still score against the diamond and 1. Ebonique needs to come through with a big game in that scenario, and if she could make that shot from the foul line, that would help. Also, if the zone gets spread thin, maybe Kelsea can drive the lane, and maybe Jessica can get open for some 3's. Autumn Ward can also make the 3, but has looked hesitant since the early season. One of these games, she's gonna make a couple 3's, I hope.

Also, Grimsley has the gaudy record. Does anybody have any insight on them?

West Charlotte has Nikki Burton, who I believe used to play at Vance. They also have the two Caldwell girls who are somewhat tall (5'10" - 5'11") and athletic but that is about as tall as they get. My guess is that we may continue with the Diamond and 1, with Jessica defending Burton (who is taller than either Ford or Freeman) but I also wouldn't be shocked to see more straight up zone against them. I agree with dribbles comment that we need to stay out of foul trouble...I think this matchup favors getting more minutes out of Xandi though compared to the Freedom matchup. Xandi scored in double digits against a Butler team who featured taller players than West Charlotte.

The big question for West Charlotte has always been their discpline...granted I haven't seen them since the pre-season scrimmage in November but West Charlotte dosen't mind trying to hack at every shot they see go up. To me a more displined team can take that and use it as an advantage. My question is...If WC goes Diamond and 1 on us, then who's gonna be the one defending Washington?

If Kurie has one defender occupied, then Ebonique and Xandi may could do a little high/low type of thing. Xandi can score if she gets the ball cleanly without having to move too much. The trap you fall into is having open players doing all the shooting instead of Kurie, who has to still get her shots. That happened a little bit against Freedom. You've got to have the people shooting who make a high percentage. If you're wide open and miss, it's still a miss.

I thought Freedom had an excellent defensive game plan against McDowell. I'm not going to reveal what it was, but it worked very well.
