    I wonder why ACHS has played Freedom so well this year......Chapman must be a tough matchup for Ford.....

    Hats off to an improving squad at ACHS...they will have some players returning...and I know they didnt get a win in conference but through my eyes they are improving....I know coach Setzer is busting her ass and working hard to help the girls improve.

    Chapman stuck on Ford pretty tough for a good portion of the game. Ali had a down night in scoring with only 11 points. Chelsea Connelly scored 24 to lead Freedom. The tall girl (Johnson?) for Alexander had a pretty good night.

    Updates on Feb-19 Games in the Raleigh Area

    GIRLS
    GREATER NEUSE: Clayton trailed 14-2 in the first period and had only three players score, but the Comets rallied to defeat rival Smithfield-Selma 38-32.
    Southeast Raleigh rolled past Knightdale 56-25 as Lakevia Boykin scored 17 points, and top-seeded Garner topped West Johnston 55-34 as Kesheria McNeil scored 21.
    On Thursday at Garner, East Wake, which defeated Holly Springs, plays Southeast at 6 p.m. and Garner plays Clayton at 7:30.

    CAP SEVEN: Millbrook had an easy time against Sanderson, winning 62-35, and Broughton defeated Leesville Road 59-47.
    Millbrook plays at Broughton at 7:30 today.
    Undefeated Wakefield, which had a first-round bye, plays Wake Forest-Rolesville, a 53-49 winner over Enloe, at 6 p.m. Enloe's Shala Hodges had 32 points in the loss.

    TRI-EIGHT: Apex, Middle Creek and Athens Drive safely advanced through the first round.
    Apex and Middle Creek each had four players in double figures in their wins.
    Apex routed Cary 75-37, and Emily Booker had 17 points in Middle Creek's 74-50 win over Green Hope.
    Athens Drive had its four-game streak of scoring 70 or more points end in a 69-28 win over Panther Creek.
    Athens Drive will be at home tonight against Lee County or Fuquay-Varina.

    PAC SIX: Undefeated Hillside smashed Person 83-31 to move into the league tournament semifinals.
    The Hornets will play Durham Riverside, a 56-53 upset winner over East Chapel Hill, at Northern Durham.
    Durham Jordan defeated Chapel Hill 67-36. Jordan sophomore Kristen Lyon had 21 points, and senior point guard Danielle Deberry had 20 points.

    CAPE FEAR VALLEY 3-A: Top-seeded Western Harnett topped Overhills 69-30.
    Erwin Triton and Harnett Central also strolled through the first round of the league tournament.
    Triton topped South Johnston 50-35, and Central beat Gray's Creek 50-25.

    NCISAA: St. David's and Cary Christian advanced to the 2-A quarterfinals. St. David's beat Westchester Country Day 64-47, and Cary Christian topped Asheville Christian 70-51.
    St. David's will play Fayetteville Academy at 4 p.m. Thursday, and Cary Christian will play Halifax Academy at 7 p.m. at North Raleigh Christian.
    Durham Academy reached the 3-A quarterfinals with a 50-24 win over Charlotte Latin. D.A. will play High Point Wesleyan at 4 p.m. Thursday at Ravenscroft.
    North Raleigh Christian's season ended in a 51-40 loss to Cannon School. Word of God defeated Faith Christian 67-59. Word of God plays either Statesville Christian or Wayne Christian at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cary Academy.
