    McDowell Stat leaders:

Kurie Washington: 23 points, 8 rebounds, 3 asists
Ebonique Hamilton: 18 pts, 10 rebounds
Autumn Ward: 14 points, 3 assists, 3 steals

    East Burke leading scorers:

    Madalyne Ross: 17 pts
    Elizabeth Ross: 11 pts

It was truly a game of spurts. McDowell finished strong in the first two quarters to take a 43-28 lead. The Lady Titans were then able to blow it open taking a 62-37 lead after three quarters. East Burke scored a ton of points to get the final margin back to a decent margin.

In between the spurts McDowell allowed a good number of easy, inside shots. Cannot afford that friday in the Championship Game.

    SC-FHS

since no one else has, I can give readers quick overview

    FHS-63
    S Caldwell -47

VERY physical effort by SC, seemed plan was to bump Ford a lot and see how it went- whistles blew and evidentually lots of early fouls on SC gave them few options in 2nd half. FHS turned a 1 point half lead into 7 at end of 3 and 16 in the end.

    Ford-35
    Connelly-7 (sat most of 2nd half-4 fouls)

Crowds were avg at best--Think UNC-State game kept some fans at home. Maybe thy will show for FHS -McDowell round 3 on Friday at 6:30

Not that it had an impact on either of the games, but I thought it was very poor sportsmanship for Freedom to wait and play the National Anthem before their game. Like they were saying the first game didn't mean anything. Here again, it doesn't matter at all, and I'm sure Freedom can come up with a good reason it was done this way.
