Pretty much sums up the year, Nellis leaves for the hospital after being injured. Program injured also.... badly IN NEED of and overhaul AND ATTITUDE adjustment. Hopefully "next year" begins soon.

 

North really tried to make a comeback after Heather left but it just wasnt enough.... M. Hill had awesome hit which she dedicated to Heather!

Great Game Carson came to play don't know about all the leading hitters but I do know Boo Walden went 3 for 4 and Mary Keever also paired hits and Amber Miller had the winning hit to score Keever in the bottom of the 9th. GREAT GAME Carson !!!!!

 

Heard that Southern lost to HC 4-3 last night and that the Gray's Creek vs. Triton game was postponed due to wet fields at Gray's Creek. If they go into a three way tie how would the tie be broken? My notes match your South numbers but update on Southern Lee and Gray's Creek.

Southern Lee (6 loses - 2 to HC, 1 Union Pines, 1 Triton, 1 SJ, 1 WH)

Gray's Creek (6 loses - 1 to SJ, 2 S. Lee, 2 HC, 1 Triton) with one game against Triton to be played

Southern and South split during the regular season. Gray's Creek and South split during the regular season but they lost both times to Southern.

HC won 4-3 over Southern Lee in a furious finish.
Game tied 1-1 through 5 innings. HC scores 1 in top 6th. SL ties it in bottom 6th. HC scores 2 in top 7th. Bottom 7, SL scores 1. Runner on 3 no outs. Line drive back to pitcher, Jessie Lane catches it. Next batter hits rifle shot at 3rd, Tori Williford blocks it and holds on to it. Last batter ropes one down first base line and Emma Cotton reaches out and snags it. Every one of those hits should have gone through the infield for an RBI. Quick hands and great gloves saved the game.

I was at last night's game between West Johnston & Knightdale and in my opinion, it was the best game of the season. The defense was truly stellar. Just to recap some of the plays, Katie Kisner threw a girl out from right field early in the game. Jordan Alexander made 2 GREAT plays at home plate. Jessie Jones took a shot at 3rd base that should have gone to the outfield but NO LUCK... she snagged it. She also gunned a runner out at home where Jordan blocked the runner for the out. Excellent defense Ladies!! For pitchers, Amanda Davenport pitched the first 2 innings, Lexi Betancourt came in and pitched the next four and Kelsey Eddinger came in as the CLOSER. It's so good to see Kelsey back on the mound. All pitchers did an ASTOUNDING job but it was truly the defense that kept the game scoreless. Coach Collins definitely had a blessed day. Great teamwork Lady Wildcats!!
