    It's ok

If you have to lose one then this is the one to lose. Shoot Team USA lost to V.T and Jennie was pitching. Even a GREAT team can lose with a GREAT pitcher. It happens, however I feel sorry for the next team that plays CC because just like the USA team after that loss they killed AZ. Hopefully CC learns by this and plays hard all the way to the States. Heck sometimes a loss does a team good and hopefully it's a wake up call to the good.

Good luck to both teams in the play-offs

Congratulations Cherryville Lady Ironmen! You played well for it and deserved 1st place. Looking forward to matching up with you again next year. Always competitive, entertaining games between WL and Cherryville. Once again congrats and "hats off" to all of you.

Mount Pleasant WINS Rocky River 2A Tournament

    Mount Pleasant 9
    West Stanly 8
    (In 10 innings)

    WP K. Reynolds 16 SO's / 2 BB / 8 Hits
    LP. E. Huneycutt 11 SO's / 8 BB / 16 Hits

When it comes to Championship games, THIS WAS IT!!!! WOW! What a game. Both teams battled back and forth through 10 innings. As storms brewed around the ballfield, the storm on the field was intense. Both pitchers pitched very well considering they had pitched three nights straight. With W. Stanlys A. Smith unable to pitch due to a knee stain in Tuesdays game, E. Huneycutt really stepped up and beat N. Stanly last night and really put on a show tonight. Mount's K. Reynolds went the distance and Struck out 16 against a heavily one sided Umpire. (they really hate MP Blue and Gold at S. Stanly). With Mount leading by 2 in the bottom of 6, W. Stanly tied the game. Both Teams held out in the 7th. Top of 8, W. Stanly took a one run lead. Bottom of 8, K. Reynolds hits a 1 RBI DBL that may have went over the fence had the wind been right. TIED AGAIN! W. Stanly takes the lead again in 9 and A. Starnes comes up with an RBI DBL to tie again. Mount holds the W. Stanly bats in the Top of 10. With two on, Mount's C.Thomas drives a ball to left/center to bring in the winning run. Thanks to S. Stanly for hosting this tournament, they had the best peanuts from concessions I have had at a ballfield in awhile. Now if they could come up with some better Umpires......

Mount Pleasant ends season 15-6 / 13-3 regular season and 3-0 in tournament play
2A NCHSAA starts May 13. Not sure but think we have home field for this one.

    GO TIGERS!!!
