OK- right.. Head and Shoulders better than McDowell and Freedom. Maybe South and others.., but not head and shoulders than the NW 4a top two..

I don't think Forestview can hang with them.

Here's my early take on these West Region brackets...

4A: In Section 1 I think we'll see a Freedom/West Charlotte final. I think the Lady Pats have improved enough since the early part of the season they are capable of beating Butler in the 2nd round. I know Butler has had a good season without their star player Jessica Freeman but I wonder if now that we're in the playoffs that they may miss her. The current Butler player that used to be at South Meck has done a good job supporting that team this year in Freeman's absence. It will be interesting to see who that pans out. Meanwhile West Charlotte is a beast.

Section 2 IMO looks fairly easy for Grimsley to advance to Winston-Salem.

Sectional 3 is by far the most interesting area in the 4A West region. North Meck, Weddington, East Gaston and North Davidson all hosting games monday night. I thinkk we might see a darkhorse come out of that section.

Sectional 4: The first thing I see is a potential McDowell/Page 2nd round game in Marion. That could be one heck of a game. Also East Meck is in this part of the bracket. I was impressed with them last year...they did tie for the season title in the Southwestern 4A. That's a team I've thought all year could be the "other" charlotte team that could go fairly deep.

All in all the 4A West Region has some interesting twists.

    3A:

Again I cannot believe there are three high quality teams in one sectional. Hickory/Forestview in a 2nd round matchup. Folks, that the top 2 teams in the Sweet 16 potentially meeting on Wednesday. I don't know enough about teams like Ragsdale or Concord to gauge an opinion of them. I still think Sectional #3 could produce the West Region Rep. in this year's State Championship Game.

    2A

Salisbury and East Rutherford are two good teams in 2A. East's only loss this year came to (4A) McDowell. That last sectional looks like a Mitchell/Shelby or Mitchell/Smoky Mountain sectional final. I think the brackets in 2a West will for the most part go to the higher seeds.

I seriously do not care for Hickory's team. Haven't shown a lot of class in some of their games. But yea well above Mcdowell and Freedom. I don't know if Freedom and Mcdowell put together an allstar team if the would best hickory. Don't get me wrong I would be pulling for any nw4a team over them but I'm just being honest from what I've seen. With that said I did only see hickory once this year and maybe I just caught their best game ever , I don't know but they were much more impressive than anyone else i saw this year

In my opinion from seeing forestview. They do have a very good inside game and good gaurd play.I dont really know if Hickory will be able to press them the whole game. You never know what could happen.

That is why you play the game. Any team can have a bad night and any team can have a great night. Under those circumstances you never know. I would like to see the Hickory-Forestview game if they both get that far along. Heck they both could lose in first round, never know

I haven't seen Forestview play but they better be very good to beat Hickory. I can't stand Hickory but I think they are the best in 3A. They will PRESS whoever the Whole game. Mark my words. Whoever they play better have some great ball handling guards.
