    Garner...

Garner - Leesville game played at Garner. Yes Garner has lights. This was their first game under these new lights.

Would love it if someone had the Scotland Co. - Athens game score.

I was told this was their first home game under their new lights. They were losing 2-0 at the top of the 6th. They battled for 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th. There were some shots in that inning. Final score 5-2. They don't give up! You gotta love 'em!!

    lights? yes

We just had our lights installed and everything hooked this past friday. Great game tonite. Garner wins 5 - 2. Leesville Rd. is a dangerous team, very well coached and makes no mistakes.

    Thank You

Great folks at Charlotte Catholic. Good young team with great attitude and respect for the game. Good hosts as they provided Jersey Mike's subs to the Randleman players after the game.

    N. Meck 5
    PHS 4

    WP: Mooney - 2 hits, 4 K's, 7 BB's
    LP: Quant - 6 hits, 11 K's, 2 BB's, 1 HBP

Roller coaster / emotional game; I for one am mentally drained, so I can imagine how the players feel. Home plate umpire did a subpar job calling for both teams and voicing actual balls and strikes, fair and foul balls which resulted in a lot of confusion at one point. So tied game 3-3 heading into 5th, N. Meck gets one in 5th then the HR in 7th. PHS battles back and gets one in the 7th. Bottom of 7th, runners on second and third base, two outs & full count (sounds like a "No Fear t-shirt right)...The pitch before that was a WP off the back stop where our runner on third had a chance to score, but got a bad jump plus the ball came back hard to the catcher....it would have been a close play at the plate, but that did not lose the game for us (we collectively needed to have played better on defense and hit more). After that pitch it went to full count and L. Quant hit a hump back line drive deep to second base where she made a good catch to end the game.

Regardless N. Meck out hit us and out played us tonight. Defense let down a couple times and resulted in runs. Mooney's 7th inning HR proved to be the game winner for them. The PHS kids fought with a lot of heart to come back, but was not meant to be. We are proud of them. Starting four and five freshmen all year long and having the results we did leave us feeling positive for the future. We lose one senior, Maddie Fletcher, who had a hit in her last AB in HS. She is a big part of this team and thank goodness we are only losing one kid, but she will be missed dearly. With a little more championship experience I think the kids could have been on the other end of this one. It was a lot to take in for the young ones and nerves may have played a role in this result. No matter how much you prepare, there is just nothing like playing in pressure cooker games to get experience for your team.

We are very disappointed, but proud of our team. Congratulations to North Meck, we always knew this would be a tough tough first round game. You guys have an awesome freshmen pitcher and a great supporting cast playing defense behind her. They could have fallen apart at one point, but held it together and played well for the win. The defense made the plays and they had some nice hits. We enjoyed playing them, from where we sat, players and fans seemed to have a lot of class. I know you guys will make it far into state's, so good luck.

Lake Norman played HR great for 5 innings 0-0 then the runs came. I am proud of Lake Norman for holding a good team for 5 innings. Good Luck to HR.

    West Iredell

Even though the game was 12 innings, it seemed to go by fast. RS Central has no lights and I don't think the umpires would allowed maybe one more inning. West only had a couple of scoring chances, but came through in the 12th with an E6, two passed balls and a triple. RS had a few scoring chances but West turned a couple of double plays to stop their rally. Very strong pitching and outstanding defense by the Warriors.
