As we all know the economy is hitting everybody hard including high school athletics...but the money has to be made somewhere and unfortunately its coming in the form of higher prices at the gate.

In a local newspaper article it was announced that prices for football and basketball games at McDowell High and all Mountain Athletic Conf. members has been increased to $7. I'm courious to see what other schools/conferences have gone this route as a way to recover funds?

WOW, I am not sure what is happening in our area, but that is a lot for a HS game, that is getting expensive for a family to go to the local game. I think everyone is looking at their spending.

The Greater Neuse River Conference in Wake/Johnston County. Which includes Garner, Southeast Raleigh, East Wake, Knightdale, Harnett Central, Smithfield Selma, Clayton, and West Johnston will keep the ticket price at $6 for the second stright year.

I think that the Cap-7 in Raleigh will go to $7 this year, but I am not sure.

I've seen several schools charging $7. I beleive schools can charge what they want, I know state title games are $10.
