    Since I am a Tennessee grad and have had two sons play on CP in the past, I am having to try really hard to stay out of this Alabama thing. I just wish Paul had decided to play this summer. If CP played Alabama, I maybe would have to belt out a few verses of Rocky Top.

    Coastal Plain Advances to Face Alabama

    Coatal Plain's five-run first inning proved too much for New Loudon as Coastal Plain won 10-3 in both team's Babe Ruth 18U Southeast Region tournament opener July 24 at Fireman's Field in Purcellville.

    The game began Thursday night but was suspended due to rain in the fifth inning with Eastern N.C. leading 6-2. When play resumed Friday morning, Eastern N.C. scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning to essentially put the game away.

    Coastal Plain moves to the winner's bracket and will face Alabama Friday at 1 p.m.
