2009 Louisville Slugger Independence Day Tournament, Boulder CO

    Teams competing that I know of in this tournament are the 18u Lady Blues and 16u Carolina Cardinals Chandler.

    Tuesday Scrimmages

    Cardinals 5
    Sudden Imapct CA 3

    Team Florida 9
    Cardinals 2
    (ugly uglly ugly!)

    East Coast Elite 18u NJ 2
    Cardinals 2

    Pool Play begins Wed with games against the Shamrocks VA and Victory USA CA

    Lady Blues played two today. One good, and one not so good.

    Lady Blues - 8
    Sudden Impact (CA.) - 0

    Lady Blues - 0
    Finesse (MI.) - 5

    I think we left our bats and gloves at the hotel for the second game. :-(

    Tomorrow's schedule:

    3:00pm vs. AASA (All American Sports Academy - CA.) - Already qualified for Gold Nationals

    5:00pm vs. Lady Magic (CA.) - Won ASA 16U National Championship in 2008.

    Tough day for the Cardinals

    Shamrocks VA 1
    Cardinals 0

    Chelsea White throws a gem giving up only 2 or 3 hits but two misplayed bunts leads to sac fly for the only run of the game. Cardindals outhit Shamrocks but none when it counted


    Victory USA CA 4
    Cardinals 0

    5 errors doom the Cardinals

    Tomorrows another day!

    Heard there were plenty of college coaches following you guys around. That's what it's all about. Great job all summer for a first year 16U team.

    How was the horseback riding in the Rocky Mtns?

    Turns out tomorrow was a good day!

    Texas Eclipse 6
    Cardinals 7

    Cards score 2 in the bottom of the 7th with 4 hard hits and a walk

    Cardinals 3
    Desert Thunder AZ 1

    Excellent defense by the Cards in this one

    Good to see the bats wake up today!

    The coaches have been amazing over both days...Auburn, UNC, NC St, Louisville, Arizona, App St, Purdue, Alabama to name just a few. I can tell you Chelsea White (2011 East Rowan) who has been absolutely dominating has created quite a following!

    As far as horseback riding goes a certain blond haired coach (initials MG) wound up in a tree sitting on her horse with the horse continuing to try to go through the tree. Very entertaining stuff!
