Great talent. Should be a great game. But, how does McBride get left off of there?

Maybe he couldn't attend--who knows. He certainly would add to the talent. Also, with the draft coming up it may affect some of the players listed, but regardless, those are some big time talents on the roster..and it wouldn't be difficult to fill out an equally talented 2nd team.

No kidding. He was only 9-0 with an era well below 1. Averagred less than 2 walks a game. Maybe he wasn't available. Nothing else would make sense.

It's like Braves said, you can't take everybody.

Only the top 6 pitchers in the state made this team. McBride had a great season and you can make a case for him being deserving, but it's not like there are any slouches who are on the team that he's clearly better than.

Of the 6 pitchers on the team:

    1 is going to UGA
1 is going to NC State
    2 are going to UNC
and 2 are going to ECU to be teammates with McBride.

Tons of talent on this roster. That will be a fun team to watch.

True, just thought this one was blantantly obvious. Especially when you look at the pitching records and statistics.

Like you said, maybe he wasn't available.

Like I said, I didn't get the chance to see all 7 of these guys a ton (the 6 who made it, plus McBride) but going strictly from what I've seen in limited action, what I've heard, and the schools they're going to....it's hard for me to say that it's "blatantly obvious" that McBride is better than any of the 6.

I don't think any of the 6 who did make it are blatantly obviously better than any of the rest of the 6. I think they're all pretty close, they're the best of the best.

Was McBride even Ragsdale's ace? I heard that he didn't even pitch in the playoffs when Ragsdale was up-ended in the first round. Why did they start the Coffey kid in game 1? I took that to mean he was their ace since he's been at Ragsdale his whole high school career and he also had impressive statistics himself. You would have thought they would have at least brought McBride in once the game got tight in the late innings.

McBride was the man for us, no doubt. He averaged less than 2 walks, had a perfect game and a no-hitter when he came out of another game, era less than 1, averaged giving up less than 3 hits a game and throws it 94 tops. He was the man. As to why he did not pitch in the playoffs, I will not comment but let's just say it's created some sleepless nights with a lot of people in Jamestown. But coaching is tough. Everyone has great hindsight when you lose. :)
