Preseason Polls

Prediction:There is a 3A team that was left out of this poll that will surprise everyone. They will follow in the footsteps of their football and basketball teams. Stay tuned.

 

I am surprised by the 3A poll, not necessarily at the top but the overall picture. There are a couple of teams I thought would have gotten a sniff, guess we will wait and see how it all shakes out.

 

3A will be very interesting to watch.....

3A Poll

Do coaches from each county vote on the 3 A poll?..or is it a panel of selected coaches... What are the names of the coaches and what schools do they come from ?

 

Polls Committee!

During the season, all coaches who are members of the NCSCA can go to the members area and vote for who they think should be in the Top Ten. There is a polls committee made up of coaches from the East and West from all 4 classifications. It is the responsibility of the polls committee to vote, tally, and produce the poll for each week. It is also the responsibility of the poll committee to produce the preseason poll, which they have done. The members of the poll committee are not public record and they do not know who the other members of the committee are they are serving with during the season. It seems to work out better that way.

 

Voting for poll

How many coaches are on the committee? Is there a minimum vote requirement to who gets on the poll. Is it a 3 coach committee or 4 or 5....what if there is a tie...who determines the final vote. Is there a chairman of the committee. Just curious.

 

Committee

There are 9 coaches on the Poll committee. Nice uneven number. There is not a Chairperson. Coaches from the East and West serve on the committee. As the season gets underway, coaches who are members of the NCSCA will vote and their votes will be tallied just like the votes of the poll committee. Pretty simple process once the season gets started. The committee will then be responsible for the tallies and production of the poll each week during the season.

 

Polls

Pop, thanks and very interesting. Is there a set time when the poll must be voted on. Do e-mails go out to the coaches and ask them to vote since they don't know who is who. I noticed ,the 2A conference poll has 3 teams in the poll and each of those teams have a lot of players on one travel team in the west. I thought this was interesting.
