And we should congratulate each one of these boys because that is exactly what they did, they got the job done on the field. :fan_wave2:

    I did some research

and found this to be really interesting. In fact it is just remarkable to me.

From the summer of 06 to the fall of 06 - From the summer of 07 to the fall of 07 - From the summer of 08 to the fall of 08.

51 Dirtbag players signed with ACC/SEC schools. 46 Dirtbag players signed with other D-1 programs.

    15 Drafted - 10 Juco - 7 D2

Now that is getting it done. I would say that this program has been very successfull for its players.

To make the list, you have to be seen. It stands to reason that there are as many they could rank that are unseen.

Was attending a clinic in late '07 and asked 2 college scouts about their secrets to finding that gem that no one else had come across. They both agreed that being seen is key, and attending showcases and such made their job easier. Networking with coaches allowed them to possibly find a guy who was maybe not fortunate enough to $$$ a showcase.

When asked about rankings, they again agreed, it was useful in making sure they spelled the kid's name correctly, and nothing more... as they wanted to see what the kid could do on the field, not someone elses opinion. Not in so much as they didn't deserve to be on the list, but it would seem most coaches are becoming as concerned with total make up...not just a tweaked batting average or ERA.

First, and importantly, I congratulate all those players that have been ranked. Those players do not have to be concerned if the recruiters know who they are. They've been seen; they will be followed and they will commit somewhere.

I do not have a concern for them, but I do share a concern for the players out there that have not been seen. Those are the players I would like to identify and discuss them on TBR. Over the years we have done a great job identifying those players and helping them gain some notice.....that's what TBR does best: Helping to promote those players.

If any of the members know of a player that deserves recognition , yet, for whatever reason has not been able to get his name out to the colleges...post them in here and explain why he should be promoted.

When someone starts this, I'll start a new thread.

Anyone I speak too I talk about the SC Panthers. You wanna talk about an organization that does things right. Not an advertisement here, as the program that I am associated with has never has a player on that team. But from everything I have been told this is a 1st class deal.

I hear the same. The power of word of mouth.

What's good for some kids may not be good for another.

Ditto...They are a great organization as are many others in this state...Like I said earlier the Dirtbags may not be the best but they sure know how to promote their product.
