Sanderson and Athens drive game today is called due to darkness after 6 with the game tied 4-4. A nice outing by Jr. Tom Priester for Sanderson. Even though he surrendered all 4 runs, none of them were earned.

After two straight ties due to darkness, I feel a school shouldn't be able to host weekday games prior to daylight savings time if they don't have lights. :laugh3:

    Darkness Rules

It is tough when these games are called. 2 games are now lost for the year. Neither game for Sanderson was a conference game so I doubt they will be finished. Yesterday the game was called a 5:30PM.

It looks like Enloe could have a good season this year. Any updates on Fri. scores?

    Scores from 3/11:

    Enloe over Southeast 12-2

Looks as though all games on 3/10 were rained out and some yesterday were postponed due to wet field conditions as well.

    Good luck Spartans

Lets see what kind of noise the Spartans can make inside conference play. Hats off to Packman for keeping all of us up to date on the CAP "8". Should be an exciting season.

Does anybody have any feeling who the frontrunner(s) maybe at this stage to win the CAP 8?

From what I have seen or heard, it looks like Wakefield and Leesville would be the two favorites to win the league this year. Leesville is very explosive offensively, but could be a little light on pitching depth. Wakefield is just always very competitive and well coached...don't usually beat themselves. After those two, I would guess that Sanderson, Wake Forest, and maybe Broughton battle it out for the third spot....Of course, lots of baseball to be played and anything can happen. So far, Sanderson's young guys have stepped up and played pretty well. It will be interesting to see how they do as conference play begins and if they can tighten things up defensively....pitching has been solid. Broughton's Will Cooper has on been on a tear at the plate to begin the season and their pitching has been pretty good to date. Wake Forest was a young team last year, so they have a lot of guys back. Enloe also seems to be better this season than they have been recently.

Based on information I can find online through various sources, the current records look like this....please note their have been some rainouts and suspended games that will be made up or concluded at a later date:

    Wakefield 4-0
    Leesville 4-0
    Sanderson 2-0-2
    Broughton 2-1
    Enloe 3-3
    Wake Forest 2-2
    Heritage 0-2
    Millbrook 0-3

Tough day for the Spartans yesterday as they fall to Wakefield 12-6. It was a 5-4 game going into the 5th, but clutch hits and 3 Spartan errors allowed Wakefield to put up a 6 spot in the inning to take an 11-4 lead. Sanderson scored 2 runs and still had the bases loaded with only 1 out in the bottom of the 5th but failed to push any more runs across.

Other Cap 8 scores from 3/15:

Leesville over Enloe 4-3 in 8 innings
    WFR over Heritage 10-4
    Broughton over Millbrook 10-5
