Will all the lower seeds win on opening day?

In the last game tonight, West #4 seed North Georigia is leading East #2 seed and #21 ranked Armstrong Atlantic 5-0 in the 7th inning. If this holds up all the lower seeds will be winners on opening day; #10 UNC Pembroke, Augusta State, Lander and ??? (maybe North GA).

What a tough, balanced conference. That is one reason that the PBC had as many a 5-6 teams ranked throughout the season.

The uptick in the Lander baseball program is going just as I, and others thought it would. This is the first time the school has participated in the PBC conference tournament. In only their second season in Greenwood, SC, the former Belmont Abbey duo of head coach Kermit Smith, and pitching coach Chris Anderson has elevated a program that has very strong support from the Athletics Director, Jeff May and the school. They added a great young guy to the staff in Britt Johnson. He shares the coaches' philosophy's about work, effort and winning. They are working hard to bring in talented, quality kids that can help the program get to the DII World Series and win it. They have a brand new 15 million dollar athletic complex that includes a 4 million dollar, 1200 seat baseball stadium. The fact that they are in the PBC is icing on the cake. Baseball is played at a high level in that conference.
