HS blasted Cary 16-0 (scored 13 in 1st).

MC-Athens will start the 9th inning on April 8th when Athens travels to MC. Game is tied 2-2. The original game for that night will begin when a winner is declared from the previous game.

Very close game against greenhope and LC, Frye for LC carried a perfect game into the 7th, lead off batter for greenhope got a hit between 1st and second, then was doubled off on a line drive to first, a walk, and a hit got runners on 1&3rd for greenhope, then a pop fly to rf to end the game. LC won 2-0. any updates on Fuquay? heard they have been very tough so far.

 

A lot of turmoil going on in the Tri-9 this year.

First, there was news about Holly Springs and Middle Creek having players getting in trouble.

And now it sounds like all of Cary's best talent is quitting the team. While it seemed pretty unanimous across this thread that Cary would not do well this year, this has likely secured their position at the bottom of the standings.

Not only that, but the chances of Cary upsetting any of the stronger teams seems to be almost non-existent with the loss of practically every impact player in the program. I had at least been expecting them to pull out a few wins in conference, which could have made a little bit of noise with the middle ranked teams. But at this point, I highly doubt that is going to happen now.

 

I know cary has struggled. Is it fact or just rumor that their best player quit? If so, who is it (if saying doesn't violate the guidelines of the board)

 

I'd prefer to keep names out. Someone always gets hurt. However, you can discuss through a PM

 

It is best not to name players involved. This could be just a rumor. If not the question is why would they quit? Or were they released from the team?

 

Its not just a rumor, unfortunately. Multiple players have chosen to quit because of the new coach's actions.

 

Rumor-fact...it doesn't matter. The one constant they had the last few years was Jere Morton, the assistant. He was the glue that kept that team together. The young man worked tirelessly on the field and off to help his players.

They had the opportunity to promote him and kept him dangling before he finally had to decide to move on. There is no one more committed to that school and his players than Jere Morton. The administration dropped the ball on this and broke his heart

Holly Springs and Fuquay are hosting Coral Gables (Miami, Florida) this week. Gonna take on the big boy's from Florida, we'll see how they do. Holly Springs plays tomorrow at 4:00 in Holly Springs. Not sure what day Fuquay plays them. Hopefully they both rep the Tri-9 well!

 

Middle Creek drops to 0-5 (0-3) with a 7-3 home loss to Lee County tonight.
