Carolina Mash 12U

New 12u team forming, "Carolina Mash" with practices in the Oxford/Henderson area. First tryout will be at 9:00 AM at Northern Granville Middle School in Oxford on June 16th, individual tryouts also available. This team will begin play in the fall of this year. During the summer will be holding practices on the week day evenings typically once a week, as well as weekends so that those that are obligated to other programs will have a chance to come and workout. Carolina Comets 16u Teal looking for a catcher

Our very talented Carolina Comets 16u Teal team is looking for a catcher. We currently have one catcher and looking for a 2nd catcher so each of our catchers can play in multiple positions. We will only play in college showcase events with the exception of States and National qualifier. Positions Available 18U Showcase

The Foothills Heat 18U is looking for one more to fill the roster. We are particularly searching for a Pitcher who is looking to move up to 18U, and one who wants the opportunity to play in college.
We would like to help the candidate develop and take the place of our Senior Pitcher leaving for college this fall. We will look at other position players, especially those who are capable of playing multiple positions.

Tarheel Fastpitch Stars 16U Tryouts Next Weekend

The Tarheel Fastpitch Stars Elite 16U team have a number of open roster positions and are holding tryouts Sunday May 13 at 2 PM at the UNC Chapel Hill Softball Practice field (Upper Field). Go to our web site, www.tarheelfastpitchstars.org, to get more information on the Stars Girls Elite Fastpitch Softball program, our organization, coaching staff and to register for an interview and tryout. If you can't make that date and time, but are interested in joining the Stars, register and send a note to arrange an appointment.

Because of our focus on athletes with college play as their goal, the Stars rosters has players from all over the state (some out of state), including the RTP region (Raleigh, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Creedmoor/Butner), the Triad (Mebane, Pittsboro, Greensboro), Charlotte Metro (Charlotte, Concord, Lexington, Salisbury) and the Foothills (Wilkes County). We practice primarily in the Greensboro area. The team rotate practices in the RTP and Triad areas, as well as Lexington. The Stars program has an extensive off season program for skills development and conditioning, and primarily plays showcase and championship tournaments.

The 16U team has 5 showcase tournaments scheduled for the remainder of the 2012 spring and summer season, including the Cardinals Early Bird in Rock Hill, the Dynamite Classic in Columbia, the Atlanta Legacy (an NFCA Administered Recruiting Showcase and Camp), and the Cardinal East Coast Fireworks. In addition, the 16U team will play 5 state championship caliber tournaments (including the NC 16U ASA State Championships) for a minimum of 45 games (starting in late May and ending in August). We already have many of our 18U players signed to college programs and are exposing the 16U team for college coaches and recruiters this summer and fall.

The Tarheel Fastpitch Stars organization fields teams of elite players throughout the state and region that are looking for PROFESSIONAL coaching and high level competition. Many Stars players are NC pupils of The Fastpitch School (www.thefastpitchschool.com). If you play in the Stars organization, you will be coached by professional coaches that played college softball and have college level coaching experience; you will be developed to meet the high standards and expectations of college coaches and recruiters; you will get maximum exposure at your position; you will be taught how to be recruited to play in college to maximize the potential that you achieve your goal. While we play showcase tournaments, our coaches continue to teach and coach players to have the skills expected by college coaches.

Our Goal? Simple — Help players extend their career beyond high school by preparing them to play at a high level and presenting them to university and college recruiters. 18U Head Coach Monica Armendarez
Hometown Carlsbad, NM - 1998 graduate of Indiana University as a 4 Time All Big Ten and 2 Time All American. Following her outstanding college career Monica played in the Women's Professional Softball League with the Carolina Diamonds for two seasons, where in 1999 she set the WPSL single-season home run record (12), one season for the WPSL All-Star Team, as well as a season with the Akron Racers. Seven years as an 18U Head Coach, and is the former Head Coach of the Carolina Lady Blues.

Started all 193 games Northwestern played during her career ... Concluded her career ranked fourth in NU history in walks (101), fifth in home runs (41), slugging (.554) and RBIs (154), and sixth in on-base percentage (.403); NFCA All Region Team in 2008 and 2010; All Big Ten 3 of her 4 college seasons; Started all games and was a key contributor to the 2008 ASA 18u Class “A” National Champion Lemont, IL Rockers; Coached the Lemont Rockers, 2008 thru 2010; Coached the Lemont Rockers, 2008 thru 2010; Coached the St. Charles Comets 14u, 2010-2011 before moving back to North Carolina. She's currently an Assistant Coach at UNC Chapel Hill.
