The first 10 teams will play for only $25.

1st Annual Fastpitch Indpendence Showdown

The Southern Star All-Star Summer Showcase at Lovejoy Regional Park in Hampton, GA August 11-12, 2012 is now accepting entries. Games begin late in the afternoon on Saturday the 11th and then all day on Sunday the 12th.


What is an "ALL-STAR SHOWCASE"? An all-star showcase is for individuals seeking more exposure to college coaches than just what they receive on a travel or high school team.


Why do you participate in "ALL-STAR SHOWCASES"? To gain added exposure or in some cases to gain exposure that you feel you deserve. You never know when the right coach will see you, so every chance you get, you need to try to get in front of as many as possible.


What is the "SOUTHERN STAR ALL-STAR SHOWCASE"? It is the model by which all other all-star showcase events try to follow. Long before some of these team showcases had all-star events, the Southern Star was putting individuals on fields and letting them play in front of dozens of college coaches. For the past 6 years over 1,000 players have gone through the Southern Star and it has helped a lot of kids find the right school for them.


What makes the Southern Star different? You are on a team with 11 people. 2 pitchers, 2 catchers and 1 person at each of the other positions. You play your assigned position every minute of every inning, except pitchers and catchers who split 50/50. Our games are longer than any other individual showcase, so you play more in front of the coaches. And best of all the coaches are NOT sitting in the dugout coaching 1 team, they are behind the backstops watching all the players on all the teams, all the time. They are not restricted to just seeing 1 team.


Even if you are in Georgia and are playing high school ball, you can still participate. High school coaches CAN NOT mandate what you do on your own time. This is your chance to stay in front of the coaches during the high school season.


If you have a conflict on Saturday, such as high school volleyball or high school game, you can request to be on a "SUNDAY ONLY" team.


An application is on the web site and the deadline is July 25, 2012.
